Our moving story

Thanks to generous donors in Switzerland, we were soon able to launch our water project. In the Karangasem area in eastern Bali, poverty is still considerable. Many people are still illiterate, have no income, suffer from a massive lack of water and, depending on the area, inadequate or no health care. The child mortality rate is still very high today. The water project allowed us to provide 10,000 local people with enough clean drinking water. The project is still monitored monthly by NEXUBA for function and water quality.

The main activities of our Benefactors' Association in Switzerland consist of fundraising, financial controlling of the Foundation in Bali and project support and monitoring. With a lean but therefore no less effective administrative process in Switzerland, we ensure that all donations are used in the right place and that corrupt actions in the country are practically impossible. In addition, the initiator closely monitors, accompanies and supports the staff in the implementation of the projects. The small relief organisation is financed exclusively by donations. All board members work charitably, with a lot of heart and soul.
 
Thanks to the fact that Ursula Daeppen has lived in Bali for several years, speaks the Indonesian language, is very familiar with the Balinese culture and the customs of the locals, and has been able to build up a solid Balinese/Swiss network during this time, the projects can be implemented and continued sustainably without any significant difficulties. NEXUBA now benefits from the trust of the population and the local authorities. This makes the work easier and leads to notable successes.

In 2023, NEXUBA Switzerland and Bali will look back with pleasure on 10 successful years of activity. With a total of 5 indicated and constantly growing projects so far, we hope to continue to be sustainably active in Bali thanks to the donations.
